Holiday Inn Express & Suites Florence I-95 & I-20 Civic Ctr by IHG

The room was really clean, and I’m kind of a neat freak, so the housekeeping team did a very good job. It was a comfortable, quiet hotel. Caroline greeted us when we arrived and deserves a special thanks. She’s a real people person, friendly and professional. We stayed one night on march 29th, and we’ll come back and recommend it to family and friends.

On the evening of February 13th, Nate at the front desk showed no effort or diplomacy when a loyal guest needed to transfer rooms between adjoining stays. It could have been handled kindly, but instead it became an epic hospitality failure. The management needs to let staff make the right call. This front desk team has been the most inflexible, unapproachable, and inhospitable group I’ve encountered in all my travels. Loyalty and hospitality seem foreign to them. They had several chances to put the guest first and disappointed at every turn. I hope not to stay here again if this is the attitude guests are met with. The staff need a serious checkup.

After a full day on the road, my family and I stopped here late at night. The whole hotel smelled like dirty mop water. We were exhausted and checked in anyway, but the room was disgusting. It looked like housekeeping had only quickly made the bed, and the sheets definitely hadn’t been changed. The pillowcases were dirty, and there was hair on the pillows and sheets. The bathroom was poorly cleaned too, with rust stains in the tub. We decided to leave. The front desk was completely unapologetic about the state of the room. We were disappointed all around.

I stayed here while my son was being sent off to the Army, and it was one of my best hotel stays ever. The hotel was very clean, and the continental breakfast was one of the best I’ve had. Get the biscuits and gravy, it’s AMAZING. Highly recommended!
