Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Florence

After driving for more than eight hours with my kids, we stopped here so we could continue the next day. A big group arrived around 11 p.m. and made a ton of noise. I called the front desk, but they hung up on me, and the noise carried on past 1 a.m. In the morning, our door had been opened. The latch kept whoever it was from getting in, but it looked like someone had tried to give our room to another guest. Completely unacceptable. The room was just okay, and the sofabed was uncomfortable, though I expected that. We barely got any rest and wouldn't stay again.

Don't book unless you have to. People walking around upstairs made the ceiling creak nonstop starting at 7 a.m., so I couldn't sleep at all. The bathroom was old too, and it looked like it hadn't been renovated or properly deep cleaned in years. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. There wasn't a bad smell in the room, despite it being pet friendly. But the carpet was so dirty I couldn't walk on it barefoot, and there was mold on the wall. Some parts of the room were damaged, the air conditioner was really loud and had an extremely dirty filter, and the mini-fridge needed a thorough cleaning. I'd pay a little more for a hotel that's better kept and more comfortable.

Nice, cozy room for the price, and I loved the window seat. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the countertops looked new. The refrigerator was big too. The faucets could use a deep clean, though, and the blanket and comforter weren't warm enough for me. The wall set was nice, but the brown-orange curtains and carpet could use an update.
