The home gave our family plenty of room to relax together, and its Miramar Beach location is hard to beat. Avant was quick to respond when we called or texted, and the technician they sent was helpful and respectful. From those conversations, it seemed they were trying to work with the owner on the ongoing problems. There were a lot of repairs and cleaning needs. The upstairs master shower leaked through the ceiling into the bathroom below. A couple of ceiling fans didn't work, the kitchen ice maker was out, and the dishwasher left us unsure whether the dishes were clean even after running a load twice. Parts of the interior felt dirty, and there was mold around some ceiling air vents. Outside, bird droppings were everywhere; one light hung by a wire and several others were out, making the outdoor area feel unsafe after dark. We stayed May 24 - 31, 2025. With repairs and a deep clean inside and out, the spacious home could better match its setting. I hope the owner brings it up to the standard guests expect, especially given what a week's stay costs.

We left soon after arriving because of the condition of the house. Water damage was visible, including a damaged ceiling with mold, and mold also showed in vents throughout the home. A musty smell persisted everywhere and made us concerned about the air quality. The place didn't feel clean: upholstery and curtains were stained, with broader cleanliness problems that made it seem poorly maintained. We documented what we found. With allergies in our family, staying there felt uncomfortable and impractical. There were many upkeep issues too. Towel hooks and holders were broken or pulling off the walls, and some switches, fans, and exterior balcony lights didn't work. The elevator wasn't available to guests, which was difficult given the size and layout of the house. After we contacted AvantStay, they responded and offered to send housekeeping that evening, arrange maintenance while we were there, or move us to another property in their portfolio. The condition didn't seem fixable during an active stay, and having work done during our vacation wasn't suitable. The alternative wasn't comparable to the beachfront/waterfront stay we had booked for our 20th anniversary, and we weren't comfortable accepting a place sight unseen. After a 10-hour drive, it was understandably disappointing. Airbnb support was helpful as well. We made other arrangements in the end. The location and layout have potential, but the home needs significant work on maintenance, air quality, and cleanliness to meet expected, especially health, standards. Future guests may want to check its current condition before arriving. Two stars for the location and the host's responsiveness.
