La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Mission at West McAllen

We stayed Nov4-5, and the room was hot and stuffy because the AC fan didn't blow strongly enough to cool it down. We told the front desk, and the woman there said she'd have someone look at it, but nobody ever came. We couldn't get proper rest, and when I spoke with the manager Jacob before leaving, he didn't apologize or say he was sorry. My family and I won't stay at a La Quinta again.

The last time I stayed here, the water was hot with good pressure, and the bathroom was clean. But the room was hot even with two units, the refrigerator didn't work, and there were stains on the bedspread and fitted sheet. The cabinet under the TV had a deep scratch too. For what I paid, it wasn't worth it, so I hadn't been back in a while.

Rooms 327 and 328 were both dusty and nowhere near worth the price. In 327, the TV remote didn't work, the curtain was coming off its hinge, all the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash bottles were empty, and the king bed had just four tiny throw pillows. Room 328 had no towels or shower curtain and only two tiny throw pillows. Worse than Motel 6. Never again, and I don't recommend it.

We were excited to use the pool, then found out it was out of service. The hotel canceled my reservation for free, but Booking said a manager had to approve the refund. Apparently the manager doesn't work weekends and couldn't even reply to an email to confirm the cancellation. Now I'm out $112, with a refund possibly weeks away. What a headache. I won't book La Quinta again.
