Il Convento

The location was great, and the room was quiet, clean, and big. Breakfast was well stocked and really good. The gentleman who checked us in was helpful and gave us extra care as diamond members. The gym equipment needs attention, though: one 25 lb dumbbell was missing, and both the treadmill and elliptical were out of order.

The room walls were peeling, bushes had grown over the sidewalk, and there were derelict vehicles in the parking lot. Worst of all, we had no hot water in the shower for the entire week. I reported it and was told someone would come check, but nobody ever did. Breakfast was blah. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

I've stayed here a few times because it's close to family, but I won't stay again. The sofa bed I was meant to use while my travel companion slept in the king bed smelled strongly of urine. The fitted sheet looked clean, so I assume the mattress underneath was soaked. Either way, it was disgusting, and there was no way to get another room because the place was apparently sold out. I'm sharing the king bed for now, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it had bed bugs. The rooms are dirty and felt like a biohazard to me. Spend the extra $50 to stay somewhere else.

The fitness room was small but nice, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good, too. I didn't try the pool because it didn't look clean. The location made restaurants and shopping easy to get to, and everything else was fine.
