Days Inn Mitchell Sd

The hot tub was either scorching or only pushing cold water through the jets, though my kids did like the slide. There were other problems throughout the hotel: the place looked dingy and needed updates, paint was peeling in the upstairs pool hallway, and the paint in our bedroom was bubbling. I also suspected black mold on the pool ceiling, which was covered in plastic. Our beds weren't properly made, with the fitted sheet corners left on top of the mattress. Breakfast was stale, disappointing, and included expired yogurt. Staff weren't very friendly or helpful. The worst issue was the outlet for the AC/heater. The plug melted, the outlet turned black, and we smelled burning plastic. The front desk blamed us and said the manager would call, first saying he'd call later, then that he'd be in at 3 pm. I never heard from him, even after I called back. This felt like a fire hazard. Corporate and the Mitchell Fire Department should inspect the property before someone gets hurt. We won't return. Don't stay here.

I didn't expect much, but was pleasantly surprised. The whole motel felt fresh, from the tidy public spaces and hallways to the clean, updated rooms. The bathroom was clean and the beds were comfy. Would definitely recommend.

We felt welcome here, and the family had a great time in the pool and on the waterside. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and really went the extra mile for us. We'd recommend staying here and would love to come back.

The hotel had an odd smell, and the pool area was freezing. The slide only runs during certain hours, which I'd never encountered before. Why not switch it on when the pool opens and leave it going until closing? Staff had a hard time speaking English, so it was difficult to understand them. I won't be back and wouldn't recommend it.
