Fairfield Inn Suites Mobile

The only reason I’m giving two stars is that the sink water gets really hot. I was shocked this place was affiliated with Marriott. The lobby was the only part of the facility that didn’t smell; the elevator smelled like urine. The bedsheets had holes and stains, there was a spider on the bed and another on the toilet seat, and the refrigerator was moldy and didn’t get cold. The carpet was filthy, with old gum stuck in it, and the shower hadn’t been cleaned.

The beds were clean and comfortable, with several kinds of pillows to choose from. The front desk woman and other staff were friendly. Beyond that, though, this place needs a lot of work. It was super loud, right next to I65, and sounded like Daytona speedway. The hotel is really old and needed renovations 10 years ago. The AC was moldy and had broken vents, the bedside lamp was rusty and old, and the alarm clock didn’t work. Breakfast was sparse. The bathroom had cracked tiles, rot, and mold, and the whole place needs serious tlc. The area all around the hotel looked sketchy.

The breakfast was okay, nothing special, and the room had outdated lights and lamps with surface rust. We won’t book Fairfield Inn and Suites again. When we arrived for our scheduled check-in, our room had been given away because they’d overbooked. They put us in a handicap room with twin beds instead of the king-size room we’d reserved. Staff were rude and wouldn’t explain beyond saying they didn’t have a king available.

The AC was the big win for my family. It kept the room cool and we all slept well, and the beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was nice with someone there if you needed help. The kids were disappointed that the pool was cold since we expected it to be heated. I gave three stars because the place feels dated and Marriott needs to put more effort into maintenance throughout.
