Holiday Inn Mobile - Airport by IHG

I’m in hotels about 50 weeks a year, and after a while the same beds, breakfasts, and practiced smiles all blur together. I’ve had lovely stays and some real nightmares, so it means something when a place stands out. This one does, mostly because of its people. I’ve met well over a dozen employees here across multiple visits, and the care has been consistently warm. They remember me, ask about my family, and notice when I haven’t been around for a while. It feels like coming back somewhere I’m known, rather than just checking in. That sort of consistency comes from the culture, pride, and leadership, not one unusually good employee. The rooms are comfortable and well cared for, though they’re not ultra-luxurious. There’s a bar, and breakfast and dinner are available at reasonable prices. The food is genuinely good, especially breakfast. Those are nice extras, but they aren’t why I return. I’ve stayed in places with better décor and no soul. I’d take real kindness over polish every time. Even if the rooms slipped, which I really don’t think this staff would allow, I’d still stay here. When I’m in Mobile, this is my hotel because I’m treated like a person. If you travel a lot, you’ll know what I mean.

We slept beautifully in our nice room, and Angela at the front desk was so accommodating with our reservation and early check-in. Breakfast this morning was fresh and delicious, with friendly conversation and a smile. We had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Mobile. Thanks to everyone!

We arrived last night to find no fridge and a microwave that didn’t work. Then at breakfast this morning, someone stopped my family and me and told us to buy a ticket to eat. I booked this hotel because breakfast was supposed to be FREE, and I didn’t see him ask anyone else for a ticket. When we finally got in, there were only six food options and a completely empty counter along the breakfast area. So I was being charged for basically no food. I paid more than I think this room was worth, and I’m really upset by how we were treated.

The staff were nice, but the bed was really uncomfortable and the room smelled like mildew. They also hold your security deposit for 7-10 days after checkout.
