Holiday Inn Mobile West I-10 by IHG

The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast had lots of choices for travelers and was amazing, and the waitress was excellent. There’s a nice bar and a restaurant open at night. Security was great for people leaving their cars while they’re on cruises. I highly recommend this very nice hotel.

We had a good two-night stay starting Nov 13th, in room 532. The rooms were tidy, the hotel was quiet, and the Wi-Fi worked well without connection or drop-out problems. There were plenty of places to charge devices, the TV was a good size, and the bathroom had pumps for body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and lotion, by the sink and in the shower. The front desk staff were nice, parking was free, and the property is gated. To find it, turn down a side street and go behind a gas station. There’s a regular Holiday Inn first, then the Express farther down. The building has five floors and two elevators. It has a bar and restaurant, an exercise room, and an outdoor pool, though the pool was drained. No spa or hot tub. The tub needed refinishing, with flaking and a few small rust spots. There’s no microwave in the room. You can use one in the fifth-floor hallway by the ice machine or in the Sundry shop near the front desk. Breakfast is free from 6:30-9:30, and they give a paper ticket for each day of your stay. I’m not sure how they handle it if one person in a group eats at 8 and another goes at 9, since the second person wouldn’t have a ticket. I’d stay here again.

I stayed three nights on a business trip, and the rooms, cleanliness, and breakfast were all fine. Gerald at reception made the biggest impression. He takes real pride in his work, was helpful and accommodating, and remembered my name after check-in, greeting me each day. As a young man, it’s inspiring to see people like that still around in this country.

The rooms were clean but basic, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The hotel is incredibly convenient to everything. Service loses a star because the restaurant and bar were packed with a couple of clearly large contractor groups, with only one server covering both. Even simple drink orders took an extremely long time.
