Holiday Inn San Marcos-Convention CTR Area by IHG

The front desk woman was super friendly, and we arrived pretty late. The beds were comfortable enough, though we didn’t get breakfast. At about 1am, the hot water looked milky. When I woke up and tried to shower, there was no hot water, so I knew something was wrong. I called the front desk from the room phone several times and got no answer, then finally reached someone from my cell. She said the lack of hot water wasn’t their fault. I’m not sure who else that would be on. At 8 o’clock I was told it should be fixed soon, but by 10:30 we left without showering. That really sucked. I was traveling to cut my trip in half and picking up my son that day, so we’d be driving most of the day anyway. If I’d had plans for lunch or shopping like I originally wanted, not being able to shower would’ve been even more unfortunate. The hotel was nice enough, and I liked the snacks they left in the room, but hot water is a basic necessity. Not having it for any reason was a huge disappointment.

Our event at the Holiday Inn San Marcos Convention Center went smoothly from beginning to end. Angel, the manager, had everything set up beyond our expectations, and the banquet rooms looked beautiful and were ready for us, including the Audio/Visual equipment that made setup easy. Ed was professional and attentive, and said he’d be there for us throughout. He really was. Carol at the front desk made sure our rooms were in order and that we had everything we needed during the stay. At breakfast, Var was friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of. The whole team’s service and attention to detail made for a great experience. I’d highly recommend the Holiday Inn San Marcos Convention Center for a meeting, banquet, party, or other gathering. You’ll be in good hands.

The front desk team were so friendly and welcoming. Laura’s steak and eggs were 10/10, the best hotel food I’ve ever had, and waiter Bryan always showed up right when we needed something. Best hotel I’ve ever stayed in!

The place is clean and fresh, and the staff were nice all around. It’s close to where we needed to go, and the Bistro/bar was pleasant. Mary, our server, was kind and attentive. I’ll definitely come back.
