Hi-Tide Ocean Beach Resort

The apartment was clean, and the view is great, but I left disappointed. I stayed in Pelicans Perch #32 Condo and found that the gas fireplace shown in the online photo had been boarded up. Some of the Hi-Tide website pictures are misleading, and the condo owners should update the site and the apartment to match what’s pictured. Check-in felt like a joke because you have to make an appointment. The Wi-Fi and password didn’t work, and after 6pm the office closes, with no help available unless it’s a 911 emergency.

I’ve stayed in several condos over the years, from a corner suite with a bedroom sauna to a basic room with a kitchen, and I’ve always felt at home and warmly welcomed. It’s also great that children and animals are welcome. You’re only steps from the ocean, with miles of beach to explore. At low tide, silver fish swim around your ankles in the beautiful river inlet. You can clam, fly kites, beachcomb, or walk for miles, or just listen to the Pacific from your condo. Each room has a quiet bedroom, full bathroom, large kitchen and living area, and a deck. It feels more like coming home than taking a vacation. Definitely worth a visit next time you’re in town.

My 14 year old is picky and has high standards, but he called this the best place we’ve stayed so far, even after countless trips. He was so pleased he left a tip. I rented clean, nicely decorated one bedroom condo #6, with a partial view of the ocean and river and a cozy fireplace with a log burning. The rates are very reasonable compared with other full suites or condos that are below standards. The office staff were friendly and accommodating, and the grounds were clean and landscaped. I’ll definitely come back. Wish I’d found this place sooner!

We’ve been coming here for over 20 years, mostly because our dogs love it. I even lived here and managed the property in 2015. A lot has changed, and I could live with the need for upgrades, but the poor attention to detail and customer service are harder to overlook. I had an unpleasant interaction with the current management, and the lack of kindness and customer care means we won’t return. It’s sad and disappointing, especially given the great location. Next time I guess I’ll rent one of the nearby airbnb houses.
