Aqua Log Cabins Resort

We were looking forward to this, but it was pretty disappointing. The cottages are beautiful and the setting is quiet, yet inside ours it was basically beds, a brown-stained smelly shower, and not much else. Water from the bathroom sink was brown, smelled like eggs, and sprayed in every direction because the tap was clogged with silt. There was no front office or cell reception, so getting decent water meant driving quite a ways. The lake around the large dock and its chairs was swampy and gross, so swimming there wasn't an option. The listing called this a resort with a pool and an onsite restaurant, but there are only a few cabins at this location. The restaurant is actually over a kilometre away and had just a few expensive small pizzas on the menu. Using the pool or sauna meant driving there and back, plus paying an extra $25 per person per day. If you get a lower unit with a big group above, it could also be very loud. We got lucky and only had someone upstairs for a couple of hours. Thanks aqua log cabins for convincing us to buy a camper trailer!

The lakefront deck had two BBQ grills, plenty of furniture around the fire pit, and lots of parking. We stayed in cabin #23 from August 19-22 and found it peaceful, with a gorgeous lake view. The cabins seemed full, but we barely heard our neighbors. There were four of us, and two more could have fit comfortably. The beds and two futons were comfortable, and the shower had strong water pressure and enough height for a taller person. The cabin was super clean when we arrived. Linens weren't included, though TP, paper towels, hand soap, trash bags, and an extra can for returnables were provided. We were close to everything we wanted to see on the Keweenaw Peninsula, or as close as it gets there. Breakfast from the crepery and the wood fired pizza were both really good. The value for the accommodation was excellent. We're planning another trip next summer and hope to stay here again!

We booked three months ahead expecting a large bar restaurant, but found out it had been closed for six years. Then we got to our cabin and found it dirty, messy, and disgusting. Do not recommend.

The Wi-Fi was really iffy and only worked outside our screened porch, but who cares, we're in the woods! The pizza is good, though more food options at Mt Bohemia would be nice. The cabins and pool/spa were great, and sightseeing is so close. Can't wait to come back. 10/10 recommend.
