Motel 6-Moline, IL

We decided to go elsewhere after seeing how worn and dated everything looked, and the rooms seemed very small. I was pretty sure there was a cockroach running through the lobby, too. Before that, the desk guy had struggled to locate the online booking my dad made and get us checked in. It took around 25 minutes or longer.

I drove over after booking and found a different name on the place, not Motel 6. Two room windows were broken, and someone was climbing through a ground-floor window. We drove on and stayed somewhere else. I'm sure they'll still charge my card.

Amber at the front desk was really nice and helpful, and checking out was easy. For a $50 night, it did the job, but I wouldn't pick it for a vacation or anything fancy. The room felt sketchy: mold-looking marks in the shower, a crumbling popcorn ceiling, loose cable running across the way, a small TV, no alarm clock, and a strangely uneven floor. The bed seemed clean, though it was very springy and came with only two pillows. No microwave or fridge either. Not the worst bed I've slept on, but far from the best.

The room card credited Jeanna & Tammy for cleaning, and they deserve a 10 out of 10. The room was clean and had what I needed. Fresh, hot coffee stayed available, too. Danielle made check-in quick and painless, and did a fantastic job. I was glad to find a fridge in the room, since it wasn't listed as an amenity. I'll be back for my business trips.
