My Place Hotel-Beaver Valley/Monaca, PA

We’d had this reservation since July, but the hotel cancelled it with only four days left before check-in. I can’t speak to the physical property, but the cancellation was abrupt: just an email saying they were cancelling and to have a great day. I’ve stayed at many hotels and never had one handle things so unprofessionally.

It’s basically like staying in a studio apartment, with all the amenities you need. I’ll absolutely stay here whenever I get the chance.

The staff were friendly, and they refunded the unused part of our stay when we cancelled. We only came once and won’t return. People live here, apparently, and were hanging around on the sidewalks late at night. There was a girl lying on the sidewalk, a dog barking constantly at 6:30 in the morning, and lots of door slamming that came right through the thin walls. Family nearby had warned us, but we didn’t listen. Save your money.

For the price, it’s a good deal if you just need somewhere affordable to sleep for a few nights and aren’t looking for luxury. The room was exceptionally clean, and as a woman traveling alone I felt safe, which is what matters most to me. I’d come back.
