Courtyard by Marriott Monroe Airport

The location was the one bright spot. Restaurants and the mall are easy to walk to. The room itself was tiny, the AC barely cooled it, and there was no microwave in the room. They have just one for the whole property. Bring your own if you're staying several days. Worst Marriott I've stayed at.

We paid $240 after tax for an upgraded room, number 137, for one night on 10/26. I couldn't wait to leave. The room was by the road, and truck noise kept us awake. Its courtyard/patio door wasn't locked, which didn't feel safe, and none of the doors would stay shut because the room seemed tilted. There was garbage around the room and the carpet looked years overdue for cleaning. Housekeeping either hadn't cleaned after the previous guests or had done a very poor job. I've traveled for years, and this was the worst Marriott property I've encountered. It shouldn't carry the Marriott name. I feel sorry for the employees working in such a run-down, unkempt place. I doubt Marriott would have any pull to get me a refund, though.

The rates are high, but there's no breakfast included, and even basic supplies are short. We got one washcloth for two adults and just one bottle of water for the room, so a couple is expected to share. There's a single microwave for the whole building, downstairs by check-in. That's hard to accept at this price. This was the worst Marriott I've stayed at, and I'm very disappointed in Marriott. I won't be back.

The cost per night felt more like a resort and spa by the ocean, but you don't get what you pay for here. The property looks like it hasn't been refurbished since it was built, and the barista was rude. Management was rude too, and the manager wouldn't help when I raised problems, calling me a liar. The way they handled room availability, then got caught lying about it, says a lot about the people running the place. It's overpriced and unprofessional, and customers don't seem to matter. Next time I'll keep going to a casino room in Bossier City.
