We booked two nights but stayed just one. Our reservation was through Hotels.com, so cancelling meant going through them. We had booked a double room with an accessible bathroom, but weren't given one. The clerk said we'd need to switch rooms, and the replacement had the accessible bathroom but only one bed. There were no towels in that bathroom, so I had to ask for some. The whole first floor was under construction, where the replacement room was. Breakfast was mid at best, and the rooms felt dark and somewhat dingy, making cleanliness hard to judge. The woman at the front desk who helped us that night did try her best with every issue.

The hotel was conveniently close to town and the highway, so getting around was easy. Our room was spacious, really nice, and very clean, and the staff were very nice. The service was great, and for us it was good value for the price. We'd stay again.

I've stayed here several times for work over the past few months. The staff are super friendly. The rooms are older, honestly, but in good condition. The fitness center is small, though manageable.

The biggest concern in room 322 was the door. It wouldn't latch when shut, so anyone could push it open. We could only secure it with the small bar from inside, leaving no way to lock the room when we went out. The bed was uncomfortable from years of use, the linens were stained, and the heavily used bedspread was full of snags, almost like an animal had scratched it. Standard pillows were provided on a king bed, and they were small and worn out. The nightstands were badly worn, the desk wobbled and barely stood, and there was a hole in the wall behind the door where the doorstop had gone through. The room itself was clean, but badly in need of repairs. We stayed this past weekend on the third floor. The lobby was nice and clean, but the whole hotel needs new carpet. The third-floor hallway had purple paint stains, and the carpet in 322 was disgusting, stained and discolored from wear. The elevator was very slow and jerky, so I'd take the stairs. Parking is limited, and when the hotel is busy or sold out, you may have to park on the street. We've had a similar problem here before, a few years ago on the first floor. I'm surprised Hilton allows the hotel to stay open in this condition. In response to the owner's comments, we were not offered a different room and had to stay in the one with the faulty lock. We weren't offered a discount either, and I have a copy of the receipt. There were no visible signs of remodeling work, despite the owner's claim. This hotel has gone significantly downhill and was not a good place to stay at all. Beware of this location.

At check-in, late Sunday night around 11:45, I had to ring an outside phone to get into the hotel. That might sound like a good security feature, but once inside, the front desk clerk said the system was down and it took 15 minutes to check me in. After finding my reservation, she quoted the stay cost and deposit, though the reservation was already paid and I only owed the $50 deposit. She mentioned breakfast from 6 to 9, gave me a key, and directed me to the elevator without explaining anything else about the hotel. The shower drain was clogged, so showering turned into a bath and I had to cut it short. I called Monday afternoon to ask for maintenance, and the clerk said they'd check it Tuesday, but nobody came. No maid ever entered my room. I went down for fresh linen Tuesday night and was told they were out because guests kept taking towels. On the third day, after work, I again found no one had been in the room and had to go downstairs for linen. They were still short, and the desk offered all five towels they had. I refused and took only a washcloth and towel. I left a day early because of the poor service, checking out at 8:50 Thursday morning, though my receipt doesn't show the departure date or time. I still need to check whether I was charged for the fourth night. After reading reviews, it made sense that guests had been put on the second floor. Calling this a Hampton Inn under the Hilton name is deceiving. From the way they do business, I doubt it's really part of the Hilton franchise. I'd have been better off at Tru, Marriott, or even Holiday Inn Express. I wanted to leave after the first night and should have. It ought to be called Monroe Inn, not Hampton.
