Check-in was easy and quick, and I slept well during my stay. The rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly. I had a good visit and would come back. 10/10.

The whole thing felt shady, and I wouldn't stay here again. Someone ahead of us said their room was canceled after “Oscar” called to confirm their arrival time. They said they were on a plane, and he canceled the reservation. He called me too to ask when I’d get there, which seemed fine at first. At the desk, I handed over my physical card for the reservation, then he said they only took cash. I left and called back to ask if a card was okay, and he said yes. I don’t understand why he asked for cash in person after saying that, especially since he’d asked for my card earlier. The Motel 6 website says cards are accepted. “Oscar” claimed to be the manager, but had no name tag and wouldn’t give his last name. He was rude and completely unprofessional, and seemed more interested in making trouble than following the policy.

We couldn’t sleep because of the loud noise coming from the room above us. The room itself was a disaster: no towels, no blankets on the beds despite the cold, and the front desk said they didn’t have any towels when I asked. The air conditioning didn’t work and made an unbearable noise too. We’d checked into a room for four at the Motel 6 in Monterey Park.

I paid for the reservation in advance and let them know I’d arrive late, but when I got there they wouldn’t honor it. They said I’d been blacklisted for a reason “they weren’t allowed to share with me.” I’ve never stayed at a Motel 6, let alone this particular location. The receptionist was dismissive, wouldn’t help, and offered no solution at all. Horrendously awful. Avoid this place.
