I had a great night's sleep in the comfortable bed. The room felt cozy and was nice and clean, with lights around the mirrors and a tray ceiling. It was just right for my one-night stay. I'll remember this place next time I'm in the area.

The room looked worn and used up, and the owner's treatment of us was awful. I booked through Priceline, where the listing said “pets allowed.” The booking was non-refundable, or I would have canceled when the manager asked whether I had pets. I answered honestly that I had a dog, and he told me dogs weren't allowed and that I should have read the fine print. I showed him the Priceline ad with his hotel's information and immediately said I would take the room and keep my dog crated in my truck. He repeated some version of “you can't have the dog in the room” seven more times. I was worried my dog might get scared and whine during the night. I told him I might sleep in my truck with her and keep the room so my son could sleep inside. The manager replied that he had the right to check during the night to make sure the dog wasn't in the room, and said he'd knock on the door. I asked him please not to wake my son, since I was paying for the room. He patronizingly said he was trusting me not to bring the dog inside. Terrible management. If he'd said it once and offered to check the hotel's Priceline listing, or even mentioned a dog park a block away, I would have given the place two or three stars. The somewhat quaint Camino Real location doesn't make up for the rude service and shabby room.

The room smelled like mold, and the only way I could get rid of it was to leave the window open with the fan running. When I asked the clerk for a towel, he handed me one with huge rips in it. There wasn't a single nightstand on either side of the bed. For what they charge, this place is a joke. The light-up mirrors might appeal to someone, but don't stay here. Find somewhere else. There must be a reason I was the only guest there.

I found two bed bug nymphs on the bed on my first night. It was late and I was exhausted, so I had nowhere else to go. I checked out early the next day and asked for a refund for the second night I was supposed to stay, but they refused. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this disgusting, cheap place.
