Best Western Lake Conroe Inn

The full continental breakfast was the best part. There were eggs, sausage, waffles, muffins, fruit, cereal, yogurt, cream cheese, orange and apple juice, milk, and more. We looked forward to it every day. You can also see Lake Conroe from the parking lot. Our room was clean, with comfortable beds and linens. Service was quick and friendly, and several fast food places are within walking distance.

The front desk woman was super friendly, but the rooms were a letdown. The first room's air conditioning was broken. In the second, the bed was covered in brown stuff, maybe bugs or dirt, I couldn't tell, and it was so nasty I wouldn't touch it. The third smelled strongly of mildew. There wasn't really anything closer to where we needed to be. Next time I'll drive farther and choose a nicer hotel.

The mattresses were awful, and the cheap metal frame creaked every time I got up, waking the other person. The AC didn't cool the room, and it wasn't very clean either. I booked at an $85 base rate but was charged $94.99.

The shower head and drain were filthy, and the drain was so clogged that water pooled while I showered. Our room was dirty, and we only stayed one night. When we checked out in the morning, we saw cockroaches in the bathroom.
