Home2 Suites By Hilton Montgomery Downtown

I love Home2Suites hotels! This one is in a great downtown spot, close to lots of things. The room looked amazing and felt comfortable, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Cordarryl at the front desk made check-in easy. He was kind and friendly, and answered all my questions.

As a Hilton Honors member, I was extremely dissatisfied with this stay. I’m used to paying for parking at downtown hotels and didn’t mind the $30 charge here. But even though the location has a lot on its premises, it contracts with a valet service, and the valets wouldn’t let me park my own car there. I didn’t want to hand over my keys overnight, but that was required, so I had to park on the street and walk back at night. The outdoor seating area also didn’t feel safe because the lights were unplugged and off. When I reported that the firepit wasn’t on, staff said it didn’t work. The morning breakfast bar staff were rude and cavalier, showing that customer service isn’t being prioritized. I’m accustomed to exceptional service from Hilton, but you won’t find it at this location. I highly recommend passing on it. I would NOT stay here again.

Darryl made the stay especially comfortable. He took time to point out the amenities and nearby attractions, and check-in was quick and easy. His warm welcome, professionalism, and kindness really stood out.

Marie was a real bright spot at Home2 Suites on Columbus Street. She stayed friendly and calm even when the desk was busy, handling several guests while answering my questions and sharing recommendations about the hotel and area. She was easy to talk to, and her positive energy made the whole visit feel welcoming. The double-bed room at the newly built Home2 Suites by Hilton was spacious, modern, and clean. There were plenty of towels for two people to shower twice a day during our one-night visit, so we never needed to ask for more. The breakfast area looked clean and well maintained, though the food itself didn't suit my picky tastes. If you like typical hotel breakfast, you may enjoy it. Parking is limited. I found a spot on the street close by, though street parking makes me uneasy because of distracted drivers. Valet was about $30 per night, or perhaps a flat $30, and the spaces beside the building looked limited too. I'd stay again and recommend it for the room size, cleanliness, and comfortable visit. Marie, or someone just as helpful at reception, would be a bonus.
