Residence Inn by Marriott Montgomery

We arrived late, and check-in was easy with nice staff. The lobby looked beautiful after its renovation, and there's a Starbucks there, though it wasn't open the next morning when we checked out. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was no mold in the bathroom. The second floor had a slight old-carpet smell, but it wasn't bad. The rooms haven't been renovated and were outdated, but this wasn't the worst hotel room I've had by any stretch. Reviews had made me nervous after I booked our one-night stay with points, so I asked my husband to give it a try rather than waste them. I was pleased and would stay again if needed.

I had to walk around the building because my outside-door key card didn't work, and my room key had to be replaced twice before it worked. The refrigerator in my room was broken too. When I first drove up in Montgomery, I missed the place because there were no lights on at all. I won't stay here again. I only picked it as a last resort because several events were happening in the city that week.

The chicken quesadilla was awesome, and the guy working the Bistro was super nice. The front desk lady was really nice too, and my room was very clean. I'd seen lots of bad reviews and wasn't sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a perfectly fine hotel. I'm here for two nights and would definitely come back.

The lobby had a horrible smell as soon as I walked in, and the room smelled like a dirty mop. The rooms were awful and not clean at all.
