Quality Inn Montgomery South

Breakfast was basic, with dry cereal, hotel coffee, and juice from a machine. The little area was clean, though. Check-in went smoothly, and the room was clean too, with an okay bed and pillows. It was convenient to park an 18 wheeler across the street, and there were a couple of food options close by. Visited 1-8-2026.

The shower had a really strong stream, which was even better than I expected. Rooms were nice and clean, and there were hot waffles at breakfast. Can't ask for more.

This place was in rough shape. The room smelled moldy, people were hanging around smoking pot in the stairwell, and the tub finish was gone. There was mold by the fixtures, rust on the bathroom door lintel, and a dirty armchair and couch with sunken cushions. The A/C filters were filthy, the desk had greasy fingerprints, and the carpet looked like it should've been replaced ten years ago. One lampshade had a hole, and the bedside lamps were crooked with both shades askew. The desk clerk offered to do me a favor and move me to another room, but given the state of the place I doubted that would help. My booking was non-refundable, so I stayed for the one night. I planned to bring in sanitizing wipes and clean everything myself. I figured I’d be safe enough if I avoided sitting on the furniture. At least the bed didn’t seem to be crawling.

The front desk helped me out with some pretty demanding, odd requests, and there are a few food spots nearby. It’s next to a FedEx site at a small airport. I thought I could get wired internet through the wall socket, but the LAN cable didn’t work. I didn’t troubleshoot it and just used Wi-Fi.
