Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Uncasville Grot

Katie told me at check-in that I would have to request the refund, but after I explained the app kept rejecting my cancellation, I was told the charge couldn't be canceled. I even offered to pay half and get the rest back. No chance. I had first booked the room for about $350, then rebooked at a lower rate to save money. After several failed attempts to cancel in the app, I tried to sort it out at the desk. I'm a Silver Elite member and have stayed at this location often, but my experience on Friday, Nov 14 will be my last. Katie said each location is independently owned, and it felt like profit mattered more than loyalty. I told her I'd avoid this place in the future, and losing a regular customer was apparently worth $350. Hope other "valuable" customers don't get the same attitude.

There are plenty of food options with the casino so close by. Evan at the front desk was friendly and great. My room was clean and spacious, and the shower had very hot water with amazing pressure.

The room smelled overwhelmingly of cigarettes, and there was some stuff on the floor. I've stayed at plenty of hotels and usually don't have problems or worry much, but I turned around almost as soon as I got in and didn't want to stay. They offered another room, but after seeing how the first one was treated, I figured the others were probably the same. I found a much nicer hotel up the street instead. This place is gross.

The shuttle to Mohegan Sun Casino was convenient and ran efficiently, which added real value to my visit. I found the rooms spotless, comfortable, and well cared for, and the staff stayed friendly and professional throughout. My stay at the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Uncasville Mohegan Sun Area felt welcoming and comfortable. I'd recommend it.
