We killed at least seven cockroaches in the room, and when we reported it, the manager got an attitude. She was rude and had no people skills. The rooms also had trash and were poorly maintained, and housekeeping wasn't doing a good job. My husband and I will never stay here again. The only decent thing was the Pilot across the road. This place doesn't deserve even one star.

The only reason I gave it two stars was the fast check-in and the trees behind the hotel. Seeing those grounds helped a little with how sick I felt after leaving the room. Inside, the walls were rotting in places, and the sheets, pillowcases, and blankets had hairs of all colors and lengths. The toilet seat was deeply scratched, with pubic hair around the toilet, on the bathroom floor, and in the tub. It's one of the most poorly kept places I've stayed. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have no other option.

For a good price, this older motel has been remodeled and is nicely looked after. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable, and the clerks were pleasant. Breakfast was a real hot one, with waffles you make yourself, scrambled eggs, sausage links, biscuits and gravy, plus juice, cereal, and coffee. It holds its own against newer places.

Our room was on the ground floor and opened straight to the outside. The front desk staff made us feel the area was unsafe, which especially worried us because my wife had all her professional photography gear with her. When we said we weren't comfortable, the woman told us to go somewhere else if we didn't like it. A few minutes later, when we asked for a refund so we could leave, the manager refused any concession. If you may need to check out before 6:30 a.m., be aware that you have to put your key in a drop box and deal with staff through bulletproof glass in an office. Apparently it's too dangerous for staff to be accessible at ground level before then, even though all the ground-floor rooms open directly outside.
