My Place Hotel - Boise/Meridian, ID

The parking lot is well lit, which made me feel better about leaving my vehicle there, and they were good with my dog. The rooms were clean and nice, and the staff were very helpful. Check-in and checkout both went smoothly. I've stayed at several My Place hotels while traveling from Seattle to Salt Lake, but this was my first stay at the Boise Meridian one, and I really liked it.

Getting in is easy enough, with as many as six staff there to greet you. But for help after that, you may find up to five of them out front smoking. Need clean linens or towels? Be ready to carry them to and from the front desk yourself. Overflowing trash is your problem too, and good luck getting the room cleaned on day four, as the policy says.

We arrived just before 5 p.m. after driving for hours, only to be told our room wasn't ready. The website had said check-in was at 3, and that time was also posted on the wall by the front desk. The head housekeeper was sitting and chatting with the front desk employee instead of making sure rooms were ready. I stay in Boise every week for appointments, but this place is off my list. They could have had me back around 50 times a year, which is a shame.

The location was just right, near restaurants and shops but not crowded, and parking and access were easy. The hotel was very clean, the coffee was great, and the staff were friendly. Great value, too. I'd recommend this hotel to staff.
