Extend A Suites Meridian

We booked through Booking.com and it’s usually great, but this stay was awful. After checking in, we found the elevators weren’t working on our way to the third floor. The desk clerk said he didn’t know what was wrong, which was fine. My companion and I are disabled, so we asked him to carry our luggage upstairs. He said he couldn’t leave the desk. I asked if we could move to the first floor, but he said he couldn’t because we’d booked a particular room through Booking.com. After 35 minutes, we started a refund through Booking.com and got it, then went to Drury Inn, which we should have chosen from the start. They have a 5:30 kickback with food and drinks included, and a very nice breakfast buffet. I’d never seen a company so unwilling to bend over backwards to keep business. We weren’t asking for much, just a first-floor room. As we left, we heard the desk clerk conducting his own business over the phone.

The breakfast was great, and the room felt clean and comfortable. The woman at the front desk was quick and handled several things at once, which was impressive. This LaQuinta Inn was a standout for me. I'd happily stay here again.

I was really disappointed by the response after finding bugs in the bed, on the walls, and on the lamp. I showed the front desk clerk photos, and she took my phone away for 5-10 minutes before saying there was nothing they could do because it happens. She didn't seem very concerned. The door also wouldn't close by itself. I expected more from a high end hotel.

The room was in excellent shape and had nice amenities, and the guest laundry and business center were both useful features. The business center was the best I've seen at a roadside motel. Breakfast was very good, the dining area was pleasant, and even the coffee was decent. Little details gave me the sense that management was paying attention. We were passing through on a road trip, but I'd choose this place if I had business in Meridian for a few days or a week. Good value for the price.
