Microtel Inn & Suites By Wyndham Meridian

We left at 2am and slept in the car because the room was so bad. The front desk receptionist, who I believe had the last name Patel, apologized and promised a refund. Three weeks later, when we called because it hadn't come through, he said we'd “used the room” and wouldn't honor it. He claimed we'd used the bathroom, bed, and trash cans. The bathroom was filthy when we arrived, we only lifted the blankets to inspect the bed and never lay down, and the trash in the cans wasn't even ours. The cigarette and mildew smell was throughout the lobby, room, hallways, and elevators. The sheets were dirty, the pillows flat, and the bathroom grimy. The connecting door was unlocked and ajar, which made us feel very uncomfortable with our 7-year-old. We're avid travelers and have stayed in lots of hotels, but this was by far my worst experience. Please don't stay here if you want to avoid bedbugs, a mildew smell that sticks to you, or a risk of not getting a promised refund because of sleazy management. Patel, please honor your refund promises in the future.

Both rooms looked worn and badly in need of an update, though check-in went fine and the bed in our room was comfortable. Just after we fell asleep, the girls in the other room found what appeared to be bedbugs on their bed. We brought it to the front desk, and we mutually agreed that my points for both rooms would be returned so we could move on. I'm still trying to get the points back from Wyndham. They say I didn't follow the cancellation policy and don't care that bedbugs were the reason. Beware.

The room was dirty, with stains on the walls and floor, and the bathroom was far from acceptable. The shower curtain rod wasn't secured firmly to the wall. At the desk, customer service was terrible, and when I asked for another bar of soap, the woman couldn't find one. The lobby smelled strongly of mildew and weed. We chose Microtel because it was cheap and the website photos looked decent, but you can't believe everything you see online. The walls are incredibly thin. Our neighbors were having sex until 2am, and we heard every moan and thrust. I got up hoping for a decent breakfast, but there were only packaged muffins and slices of bread, no eggs, sausage, or even oatmeal. Do not stay here. It's worth paying more to sleep somewhere else.

The drain didn't work anywhere, and the toilet sprayed water all over. There was stuff carved into the wall and the couch was ripped up. Absolutely horrible. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. This place is a dump.
