MainStay Suites Meridian - Bonita Lakes

The only surprise was having to leave a deposit at check-in. Otherwise, the amenities were as described, and the room was clean, cool, and quiet. I arrived Friday evening and had asked for the A/C to be running so the room would be cool. They delivered.

I stayed one night in late May and took photos because I was worried I might be charged for the room's condition. There was a crack in the door by the lock, holes in the walls, and the bathroom door was torn up. Clothes from a previous guest were under the bathroom sink, while the tub and refrigerator were dirty. The bed was propped on wooden blocks. I told the staff about all of it, but the only maintenance ticket they wrote was for the clothes. They were rude, too. I still have the pictures and wanted to send them to Choice Hotels. They shouldn't advertise or back this hotel. I'll never stay there again.

The front desk staff were friendly and professional, but the property needs better upkeep. The rooms are spacious and the hotel itself is decent, though cleaning was incomplete. The breakfast was disappointing, especially the coffee, which was 0/5. The elevator smelled of cigarettes, and the stairwells looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in weeks.

The second room wasn't any better after we were moved from the first, which had roaches. This one had stains on the mattress and sheets, dirty blinds, mold on the AC, and dirt all over. There was a banana peel under the couch, hair in a corner, and the toilet hadn't been scrubbed. I don't know what's going on with their housekeeping, but they need to replace the staff. Never staying here again, so I hope you Main stay away.
