Meridian Inn Hotel MS

The beds were newer and comfortable, and the TV was nice. It worked for a single night of rest, but the rooms are badly dated and part of the bathroom ceiling above the shower was falling in. The coffee maker didn't work, and the pipes made a lot of noise whenever anyone, including guests in other rooms, turned on water. There wasn't a hot breakfast, despite what the photos suggest. They had juice, coffee, water, donuts, and yogurt. There are plenty of other places to stay around here, so I'd check those out.

The pool was nice, and the employees were pleasant. Everything else was frustrating. The ice machine and washer were broken, the drink machine was out of order, and on our last day the A/C wasn't working right. Sand came out of the bathroom faucets. Breakfast was supposed to go until 9, but almost everything was gone by 7:30, and it was basically first come, first served. If you have another option, I'd stay somewhere else.

The rooms are comfortable and the price is economical for what you get, though the hotel is dated. There's a lot of interstate traffic, and many guests seem to be truckers stopping to rest as part of their Class A license requirements. The front desk is friendly, and the cleaning staff are lovely once you get to know them. I wasn't too fond of the place at first and gave it three stars because of breakfast. I had a helpful conversation with management, though, and my concerns were easily resolved. It's not bad, just dated.

The rooms are older and dated, but they were extremely clean, and I felt safe. That makes a big difference to me. My son and I stopped in September 2020 because we were tired, and the owners were so friendly and helpful. The owner made sure we had everything, and even their son was very congenial. His wife made sure my son had something to eat for the drive. Their kindness made the stay perfect. I hope they moved those plants out of the way, since people might think the place is closed. Thank you!
