Tru By Hilton Meridian

Warning, don’t stay here. I travel a lot, and this was the dirtiest hotel room I’ve ever seen. The mattress had hair, stains, food, and other particles on it, with only a thin sheet over it. The floors and nightstands were filthy too, and the shower floor was black with dirt in it. I took tons of pictures and wish I could post them. The TV didn’t work, and neither did the heater. I hope this helps them train the employees to do a better job cleaning.

The beds were really comfortable, and breakfast was clean and well stocked. We were just passing through and stayed one night. The woman at the front desk was friendly and accommodating, and it was nice to get such good customer service.

The room and bathroom were clean, and check-in went smoothly. Breakfast was good, though the smell of cleaning products hit me as soon as we walked in. The beds were uncomfortable, with springs digging into my back. The sheets were paper thin and needed replacing, and the pillows did too. The next day, after we’d left, I noticed an old blood stain on the side of the mattress cover. It grossed me out. Bodily fluids shouldn’t be left on something guests touch, and I consider that an OSHA health violation. I’ve enjoyed Tru By Hilton stays in other places, but I won’t stay at this one again. Do better, Hilton.

The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, but I expected more from a hotel at this level. There’s no microwave or coffee maker, and instead of a desk there’s just a small rolling table that works okay. The chairs look fancy but aren’t comfortable. The TV is huge, yet confusing to use. It can take ten seconds or more to respond to the remote, and the guide button never brings up the guide. The shower door leaks so much that I needed two towels to mop up afterward. In my room, the vanity lights didn’t work, which made getting ready in the morning difficult.
