Quality Inn Georgetown North

It's an average roadside motel, nothing more, but the front desk lady makes it stand out. She was super, super friendly and helpful, and made me feel like a good friend. Ten stars for her.

I've stayed here several times, and the staff have been amazing every visit. The location is central to the Toyota factory, and there's a Waffle House about 100 yards down the access road that's easy to walk to. Rooms aren't very modern, but they're cozy and comfortable, with nightly and extended-stay options. Extended-stay guests are upstairs. The parking area is nice and well lit at night, which makes me feel safe. The pool isn't open, and there isn't a fitness or business area for guests, but I don't mind that. Towels and bedding are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the pillows are fluffy. Breakfast has a waffle maker, cereal, fresh fruit, bagels, toast, coffee, and juice. It's a nice place to eat in the morning.

The room was hot and smelled of smoke even though I'd selected a nonsmoking one. We also found a German cockroach inside. The floors were dirty, the bathroom looked atrociously filthy, and the sheets were stained. The furnishings seemed second hand or in poor repair. When we arrived, staff weren't sure which room we were supposed to have, and the rooms didn't match what was advertised.

After driving for 18 hours straight, I was in the back upstairs room and had to go all the way downstairs and around to the front to ask for toilet paper. I'd tried three numbers on the third-party booking site, the hotel's direct site, and Google, but every number was disconnected. I'm a 35-year-old woman, not some perverted old trucker, and I'm posting this because I couldn't call the desk from the room to ask for supplies. I needed two hours of sleep before getting back on the road, and the price was great. The bed, hot shower, and somewhere to heat food were all I needed, and that was well covered. There were dirty, wet hand towels left in the shower, a used bar of soap but no fresh one, just a shower cap, one clean towel, and no toilet paper. I went down to tell Mindy, the positive, welcoming face at the desk after a long day. She gave me soap and toilet paper, sorted everything out, and offered a discount for the next day. I didn't take it because I wasn't trying to complain, just letting them know so the next guest has a better stay. Mindy deserves a raise for her great customer service. I told her they should put a working phone number on the booking sites. Other guests might not be as understanding and polite as I was. I'd still stay here again if I drove through.
