Crowne Plaza Pittsburgh Airport

The room was small and really unclean. There were awful brown stains on the white bedspread, plus grey specks on the bed and sheets that I hoped were only ashes. The chairs were stained, the nightstands had sticky rings from bottle bottoms, and the screaming yellow wallpaper was torn and splattered. The whole room smelled like an old ashtray, and the windows wouldn’t open to air it out. The woman at the front desk was curt and rude from the moment I arrived. When I asked for a nonsmoking room, she loudly lectured me that Priceline automatically books smoking rooms, which isn’t true. She also said the hotel was OVERBOOKED, which wasn’t true either, and refused to change my reservation even though it was early afternoon and surely not everyone had checked in. Crowne Plazas are usually delightful, and this one near PIT airport has plenty of good reviews, but my experience was TERRIBLE. Heinous!

The service is what made this stay great. I care a lot about customer service, and the team really delivered. The front desk welcomed me warmly and offered the Prioity club perks without me having to ask. Food service handled a special request with a smile, and housekeeping was cheerful and prompt with my requests. Great work, everyone!

I booked through priceline and got the executive suite, and I couldn’t be happier. The bathrooms were awesome and the service was great. Fantastic hotel, definitely recommend.
