Holiday Inn Express & Suites Morehead by IHG

I won't bring my business back here. The price doesn't feel worth it, and what I heard in the lobby was very unprofessional. The morning after our first night, I heard an employee being yelled at and put down in front of guests and other staff. I assume it was the General Manager. Whatever the reason for the scolding, the front desk wasn't the place for it. The employee handled it calmly and didn't make a scene. The rooms and public areas were clean, though the rooms are dated, and breakfast was good.

After 16 hours on the road, the location was really convenient for my exhausted family. Breakfast was pretty good too. The rooms, though, were very dated, the bathroom door lock was broken, and the ice machines didn't work. The second floor smelled like cigarettes. I expected better from a Hampton.

The system was down the night we stayed, and the young woman at the counter had a stressful situation with frustrated customers while she was swamped. She still handled it like a total professional. Everyone greeted us and was extremely friendly, and the employees were delightful to talk with. Clean, nice hotel, and a good stay. Thank you, Hampton Inn Morehead!

The hotel staff were pleasant and courteous, but I'm still trying to get my $308 refund from Hilton Rewards. I had to change the date because I was coming to Morehead for a funeral. Hilton Rewards told me the money would be back in 7-10 days, but that time has passed and I still haven't received it. I also rebooked through them at a higher price. I can barely understand the call center representatives because of their accents. Pitiful.
