Budget inn

The guy at check-in was nice, and the room was clean enough. The TV worked and the fridge did its job. We chose this place at the last minute, and it’s about 12 miles from the drive-in and the same distance from San Jose. The room wasn’t among the best we’ve stayed in, and the restroom door could use some work. I could still see spit stains on the wall from previous guests. It’s a motel, so keep your expectations reasonable and it should do.

For the price, it was a decent motel. Clean, and it had everything we needed.

I saw bugs, and they really creeped me out. The sheets smelled like they’d never been washed, and both the sheets and towels had stains. I took a 10-minute shower and got burned five times. The air conditioner smelled strongly of urine. I paid over $100, since you won’t get a room here for less than that. I wouldn’t wish a stay here on my worst enemy.

I heard this from housekeepers I know who used to work there: a couple and their child found big rats in their room and had to get rid of them themselves. As for the prices, expect to pay at least $100 for a somewhat decent room. You can get a two-bedroom or one with a stove and oven, but those are the best rooms and cost quite a bit, so I think you’d be overpaying. My own stay was horrible.
