The rooms were decent and clean, and the staff were nice. The problem was how much noise carried between rooms. I could hear neighbors talking and coughing, not just the TV, and I woke up early because of it. I called the front desk, but nothing changed. There was also construction right outside during my January 2026 stay. The building clearly doesn’t block much sound, so if, like me, you really want a quiet room to relax in, you might want to stay somewhere else.

We arrived around 9 AM after driving all night from Southwest Florida, exhausted and hoping we could check in early. The manager had two rooms available and said we could book one and come right in. We did, and having somewhere to lie down was such a blessing. Allen and Candy were incredibly helpful and welcoming. This is one of our favorite Fairfield by Marriotts. It’s perfectly placed for downtown, with a world class brewery across the street. Breakfast and coffee were delicious, and we enjoyed sitting on the rockers out front to people watch. We can’t wait to come back. If you’re staying in Morganton, this is the spot.

The facility is very nice and conveniently located near downtown. Candy and Bailey at the front desk were welcoming, courteous, and accommodating. They were real professionals and clearly focused on customer service.

We came from Florida and had an easy check-in with friendly staff. Still, arrival was a letdown. The pool was closed in mid-September even though it was 90 degrees outside, and our room felt tiny and boxy, with just one chair. Breakfast was a hard pass for us. The eggs were liquid, everything seemed heavily processed, and the bacon had such a strange taste that nobody was eating it. We wouldn’t do a second round, though maybe we’re too fussy.

The staff were great and the rooms clean. Morganton itself feels like a hidden treasure if you enjoy scenery and the outdoors. The hotel is right in town, with the river not far away.
