We were delighted to find a room at the Tall Winds Motel at 9 pm after our alternator failed on the first day of vacation. The first town we passed had no mechanic and sent us on to Moro, and somehow we made it. The place was very clean, and the owners were wonderful. When we learned the repair would take another day, Helen and Mike rearranged things so we could keep the same room for a second night. They made what could have been a disaster into a pleasant little stay in Moro. Thank you!

There’s nowhere to eat nearby, so plan for that. Also, book ahead if you’re coming Friday or Saturday, since events in Moro, the county seat, can fill the motel quickly. Still, it was cheap, the owner was friendly and chatty at check-in, and this place felt like an oasis in the middle of nowhere. Probably the cleanest motel I’ve ever stayed in.

I stayed here for nine months while traveling for work, and my bed was made every day. The room stayed spotless the whole time. I’ve stayed all over the country, and this is the best motel I’ve come across. Mike and Helen are a big part of what makes it so good.
