I appreciated how smoothly things were handled while I lived here. Allison, the leasing agent, was fantastic and easy to work with, and the maintenance team, Daniel and Jose, were always friendly, professional, and prompt. It was a great experience.

A few things could be better at The Monroe: parking isn't reserved, so finding a spot can be tricky, courtyard-facing apartments don't have much of a view, and the gym could use better lighting and more equipment. Still, the location is fantastic, close to Morristown Green and everyday needs, and the community feels safe and welcoming. What really made my time here enjoyable was the staff. Stephanie and Allison in the leasing office were consistently friendly, helpful, and quick to address concerns. Maintenance requests were also handled promptly and professionally, which made living here stress-free. I'd happily recommend The Monroe as a convenient, well-managed place with a great team.

The Monroe's location near the green is great, and most people in the community are friendly. I lived there for two years, though, and don't think the apartments live up to the current reviews. Several residents complained about mice and bugs, though I didn't experience that myself. Other issues I did see included poor soundproofing, bathrooms that got moldy quickly because the ceiling fans didn't work, and an annual amenity fee even when the amenities were often unusable. Parking was expensive, although the garage gate was usually open from midnight until about 8am, so you might avoid paying for a space or pass if leaving late or early. Rent usually went up around 10% each year, which seemed steeper than at nearby communities. Package pickup could be a disaster: leasing agents often put non-Amazon deliveries in the Amazon locker but didn't send the access code. This happened to me several times with urgent packages, and because I worked during office hours I couldn't retrieve them for days. The leasing office was often open infrequently, perhaps because management changed several times while I lived there. They also used the package room for overflow deliveries but required pickup within a few days or management would dispose of them, which is an absurdly short window, especially if you travel. The elevators broke frequently. The units are old and need a lot of maintenance. My washer/dryer combo broke often, and getting a replacement took several weeks. My HVAC unit also broke and took over a week to replace. Heavy rain caused a ceiling leak that took several weeks to fix. Thankfully it didn't damage my belongings, but the slow response was frightening. Even after maintenance got to the ceiling, it looked terrible, and they left the extensive water damage unaddressed. On the ninth floor of building 1, where I lived, multiple residents smoked despite the no-smoking policy, and the odor spread into every unit. We used to open the hallway window to ease it a little, but it was bolted shut to stop people from opening it. I know similar measures were taken on other floors. Anyone with breathing problems should avoid The Monroe for this reason alone. Moving out was difficult too: the leasing office made excuses about returning my deposit. It took several months to get it, although I eventually received the full amount. I'm surprised there hasn't been more legal action over this.

Jose and Raphael have been the best maintenance team I’ve come across in the several buildings I’ve lived in. They’re courteous and pleasant, respond quickly, and follow up carefully. Their professionalism has made apartment life much easier and less stressful.

Stephanie and Allison were accommodating, though I wish the representatives of "the Monroe" had paid closer attention to the details before move-in. The rental wasn't clean enough: there were paint marks on the new floor, dusty closets that hadn't been wiped out, and a bathroom sink drain clogged from prep work. The screens are worn through, with holes along the bottom, so I can't open the windows without letting bugs in. The front door is dirty and has chipped paint. The kitchen remodel also left out a cabinet, replaced with shelves, and the design doesn't feel well thought out. I know this is my first rental and I should've looked around more carefully and considered other places. Still, it wasn't a great experience. The price feels way too high for such a small place, especially with these issues. Maybe my expectations were too high, but they should make sure the details are handled for clients.
