I’ve seen other guests describe similar treatment, so be careful. In the hotel’s response, they’re now making claims about our room that they never mentioned at the time. All they said was that there was sand on a towel. I can even post the emails where they threatened us. They’re ridiculous, and the eye-roll emoji says it all. After our stay, they charged me $40 for towels with sand on them, even though this is a hotel right by the beach and towels can be washed. I paid, but then learned I’d been put on a “do not rent” list and that my information had been shared with other properties in Morro Bay. They also said they’d file a police report and send the charge to collections if I disputed it with my credit card company. They entered my room before checkout without telling me. That’s really concerning. What if I’d been changing or not dressed? I was banned for life over towels I’d already paid for, and the way they communicated felt intimidating and unprofessional. This felt more like harassment than hospitality. I understand charging for actual damage, but sand on towels at a beach hotel should be handled reasonably, not with threats or blacklisting. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Read the policies carefully and document everything. They try to intimidate people with threats, but that doesn’t work on me. Be careful!
