Morro Crest Inn

The one thing to keep in mind is noise. It’s an old building, so now and then you’ll hear squeaks, bumps, or footsteps from other rooms, and the seagulls can start calling outside well before your alarm. They leave free earplugs at the front desk, which helped with both. For the price, I had a great one-night stay and would come back when visiting friends in Morro Bay. Getting in at 1:00am after a long drive was simple. I called ahead, paid over the phone, and the owner or staff member left my key in a lockbox since the office would be closed. The room was comfortable and well furnished, with clean sheets and towels, a good mini fridge and microwave, an iron and ironing board, and a comfortable mattress. The bathroom had a window for ventilation, and the water pressure and hot water were great. The location was convenient and felt very safe even arriving alone that late.

Stayed three nights and liked this place. It’s an easy walk to everything, with plenty of parking, and it felt safe. The people were really friendly, too. Most of the time it was comfortable and quiet, though one night a large group with lots of kids got a bit too rowdy. Some parents really shouldn’t be.

The location was great, and the room was small but clean. The bed felt like sleeping on the floor with sheets over it, and the bathroom was tiny. Heating was just a plug-in space heater. I definitely wouldn’t stay again.

The Morro Crest Inn was a good fit for us. The rooms seemed recently renovated and were clean and comfortable, just what we needed. We were only two blocks from the waterfront, and stepping out onto the balcony gave us a view of the “big rock.” We arrived late, but check-in was easy because they left the key in a lockbox. Check-out was simple too, and the team responded when we contacted them. We’d happily stay there again.
