Extended Stay America - Atlanta - Morrow

I left before staying, then returned less than 30 minutes later to check out and ask for a refund. They gave me only part of it at first, but by the end of the day I was told I would get the full amount back. The hallway smelled like people were smoking weed, and I felt watched and followed. I put a few things on the counter and left to find another hotel. I had to get someone to walk with me because the same group of people on the first floor, a few doors from my room, saw me, opened their door, and followed me outside again. Then they sat in cars, and other things were going on too. It didn't feel safe for someone alone with a child with special needs. Stay at your own risk. This isn't over; when I'm done, I'll have more than the other half of what I paid. A horrible place.

Jared was understanding and really helpful, and the manager was cool and willing to work with me. The rest of the staff were great too. Customer service here is excellent, and the rooms are not bad. I had a great experience staying here. Five stars.

The clerk was very nice and apologetic, and brought me cups, shampoo, and a blanket when I asked. We felt safe for the night, though the place was a little sketchy. It's easy to get to from 75, with lots of places to eat nearby. The room itself was very run down. There was nothing in the cupboards for cooking or eating, not even a plastic glass for water. There was no shampoo, just one small bar of soap for both the bathroom and kitchen. The phone had no cord, so I moved the bedstand to look for it and found built-up grime, garbage, and an old bottle of pills instead. There was no blanket until I asked.

Update: I changed my rating from five stars to four after running into fees that weren't explained at check-in. Watch for them, or you might face a larger charge or get kicked out over something nobody explained until a mistake happened. The location is still the best for my needs. The manager is on point, and Karen greets people with a friendly smile, even when they're rude through no fault of hers. She goes out of her way to help everyone and make sure they're taken care of. I'd still choose this place when I need to stay in the area.
