The front desk was no help, and they don't give refunds. I've stayed in plenty of cheap hotels, but this was the dirtiest by far. The whole place smelled bad, and the breakfast was awful: stale bread and muffins were crunchy, while the eggs and meat were cold and disgusting. I'm amazed it hasn't been shut down. I'd have had a better night in the airport, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. This is the only review I've ever bothered to write, but the place was bad enough that I had to. In my room, the carpet was filthy and badly needed vacuuming. There was a big crusty stain beside the bed that looked like someone had tried and failed to clean up puke. A large pebble sat behind the bathroom toilet, the vent was taped over from the last paint job, and the bathroom light flickered. The toilet wasn't clean, there was no toilet paper on the roll, the deadbolt didn't work, and the chain lock was broken.

The Quality Inn near CWA has appealing prices and a convenient location, but the poor service outweighs that. I can't recommend it to brides or anyone who needs reliable service. I took my business to the Holiday Inn & Suites – Wausau-Rothschild, which offers an airport shuttle, and my wedding block was arranged smoothly within 24 hours. I was looking for a hotel near Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA – Mosinee, WI) with a shuttle and a wedding block for my 2025 guests. At first, I was told the Quality Inn Central Wisconsin Airport could set one up and was given a confirmation code. I passed it along, but my guests said the block wasn't working. When I called again, they said my reservation had been canceled and the hotel didn't offer wedding blocks at all. The front desk said a manager would call me after I asked to speak with one. I followed up three more times and never heard back. The lack of communication, professionalism, and basic courtesy added unnecessary stress to what should have been an exciting time.

What a terrible night. 0/10. The room was obviously not clean: dust had built up in a gray strip along the carpet edges, paint was peeling from the ceiling, and cobwebs covered more than half the bathroom vent. The refrigerator rack was rusty, the curtains weren't fully hooked onto their track, and the lamp had a damaged shade. Its outlet only worked if I wedged the wire up. The bed at least looked clean. The heat and air conditioning ran, but the thermostat clearly didn't work. Outside, garbage was scattered around the property, screens had fallen off windows or were held on with duct tape or bent frames, and there was a bottle by the grass that looked like it contained urine. We booked the first room through Priceline for a reasonable rate, then decided to get a second room too. I called to ask if they had adjoining rooms and was told no, which was fine. Since I had them on the phone, I asked if I could book another room for the same price and was told yes. At check-in they gave me two forms to sign. One showed $48 before tax, the other $75. I questioned the difference and was told $75 was the nightly rate. The online rate still showed the same price, so I asked them to cancel the second room and said I'd book it online. The employee and manager said they couldn't cancel or adjust it, so we were stuck with the higher rate. I also confirmed the two different rates on the receipts at checkout. Somehow there was an extra $1.75 service fee for the room safe, labeled "Safe w/Ltd warranty." What a joke. The hot tub was out of service, but we were told the pool was open. In the morning, my boys hoped to swim before checkout. The posted hours said "Pool hours 8am - 10pm," so after 8 they went down, but the same female employee from the night before told them it was closed. When I asked, she said the pool was only open 5pm - 10pm. I pointed to the sign, and she said, "Because the hours changed sir." I messaged Quality Inn parent company Choice Hotels to report it, and then the room phone rang. The same woman said she'd talked to the owner and the boys could swim. They didn't stay long because the pool seemed unsanitary, with dead bugs and such. Earlier, my younger son (13) had trouble getting into their room with the swipe key. I found the only employee on site, who was cleaning rooms. His key didn't work either, and neither did his master key, so he had to open the door with a manual key. The lock lit up, it just wouldn't unlock. Breakfast wasn't much better. The muffins were rock hard and inedible, the whole bread case smelled acrid, and the eggs and sausage were only edible, I guess. We showered, checked out, and left.

After staying here for over 30 years because it's convenient to the airport and highway, I won't be coming back. In the past year and a half, the place has gone straight downhill and is now just plain dirty. We returned at 6:00 pm to find the room hadn't been cleaned; I called to ask why and got some fairy tale in response. The room had dirty carpet, peeling paint, and curtains hanging off their pole. The toilet paper roll and door lock had been pulled off the wall, leaving drywall exposed. The manager told us the pool would be filled and open tomorrow, but other disappointed guests' reviews said it had been empty and out of order for months. No quality inn, should be the name. Don't stay here. Go anywhere else.
