The owners have clearly put thought into making guests comfortable, and it shows. The place has the Andy Griffith Show-era decor I expected, and downtown is an easy walk away. If you're staying in the neighborhood, I'd recommend it. Much better than a hotel, for sure.

It’s a cute place, but I slipped on the sidewalk after rain. Slimy algae hadn’t been cleaned off, and my feet went out from under me as I walked. I landed on my back and left knee. I contacted the owner, but she didn’t seem to care. I decided against the ER, and Urgent Care was closed. There was no WiFi, so I couldn’t even make or receive a call there. I’ll never go back.

The Andy Griffith theme suits Mount Airy and its history, and the place makes a good base for a visit. It’s not far from Main Street, with the Andy Griffith museum along the way.

Mayberry Haven was a charming place to call home for the weekend. It’s old, with uneven floors and a bit of a musty smell, but those things didn’t bother me. The large yard has lots of spots to sit and read, and the neighborhood felt very safe. It’s also in a central part of town. Loved it.

We spent the holidays at Mayberry Haven and loved this sweet, homey house. It’s convenient for downtown shops and restaurants, and we plan to stay again on our next visit. I highly recommend it. It really feels like a home away from home.
