The resident St. Benards were the best part, and the place is beautiful! It sits at about 6,000 ft and is famous for its architecture, including serving as the exterior location for the fictional Overlook Hotel in the 1980 film The Shining. The stone masonry, roofline, and amazing internal wood carvings are wonderful.

The views from the second and third floors are good. The food is pretty average American-style, and even the Thai curry has an American touch ;) Our server was kind of rude, almost slamming the plates down.

The views are excellent, and sometimes you can find amazing powder stashes. The snow and food are decent. This is still one of the most picturesque resorts, if you catch it on the right day.

The amber ale and nachos were great, and the views of Mt Jefferson and people skiing on Mt Hood are lovely. It’s a great spot for lunch and a beer, though it gets crowded on weekends. There’s both table and bar seating.

Even if you don’t ski in summer or go biking, the views are great. They have great summer skiing and biking.
