Hampton Inn Manheim

Being right across the street from the Renaissance Faire was great, and there isn’t a closer hotel. We had a really nice stay overall. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast and the coffee were enjoyable too. The air conditioner was a bit noisy and kept my wife awake for a while.

I didn’t have a room this weekend because they were short staffed, but they explained everything clearly and kindly, and I appreciated how they handled it. The desk guy was really nice and helped me find another hotel, where I ended up staying. I felt bad for him: two guests yelled at him, and I heard someone else yelling while he was explaining the same situation to me. He even went to help the young woman with red and pink hair clean rooms, which didn’t seem like something he was used to doing. I’ve stayed here before and always had fantastic service and a clean room. I’d definitely stay again, 10/10.

Breakfast came with the room and was good, and there were complimentary freshly baked chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies in the lobby. It also wasn’t very busy while we were there. The one drawback for me was the extra-firm bed. I could feel the springs, though that’s a matter of my own preference. Aside from that, I was very pleased with the stay.

The staff were very nice, but the room had a lot of repair issues. I had trouble getting the TV to turn on and stay on, and the table was propped on broken legs. In the bathroom, the floor tiles could be lifted right up, the tub filled with water while I showered, and there were several water stains on the ceiling. There are signs that a renovation may be planned. If we come back next year, I’ll update this review if anything has improved.
