Courtyard Mt. Laurel Cherry Hill

After almost 16 hours traveling from Aviero, Portugal, to Newark Airport, then a long drive to Mount Laurel, NJ, I arrived exhausted and short on sleep. I checked in around 2:00 am on Friday, January 16th. Zia was at the desk, and he was kind, professional, and thoughtful. Daniel was working too and showed the same qualities. Zia first gave me a first-floor room, but quickly switched me to a higher floor when I asked. I’d forgotten my toothpaste and was heading back downstairs when I noticed the door lock wasn’t working right. Daniel happened to be walking down the hall, so I told him and he fixed it. Zia had told him how long I’d been traveling and how tired I was, and asked him to check that things went smoothly. I found that incredibly thoughtful. I don’t think I’ve had that level of service at a Marriott or any hotel. Thank you, Zia and Danie!

The rooms are okay and fairly comfortable, but amenities are limited for the price, especially at a Marriott. The bigger problem is the service, which has been awful. They’ll do whatever it takes to get you checked in and your money, but when something goes wrong, they bail and don’t honor what they agreed to in a conversation or deal. My aunt was told there was a manager she could speak with, but no manager would be on duty until Monday afternoon, so she’d have to wait. That’s completely unacceptable. No business should run a shift without a manager available. I’d rather have a less nice room and decent customer service. I only gave one star because the review system requires at least one.

I was here for business and found it a nice place to stay. They fixed a problem with the heat in my room. The bar and restaurant weren’t really to my taste, but the prices were reasonable.

There are lots of great restaurants nearby, and I loved how much was around the hotel. The area is ideal. But some people in the parking lot made me uncomfortable. I kept seeing people walk behind cars and stand by the fence, so I felt I had to watch my car. The walls are also very thin. I could clearly hear the people next door.
