Aroostook Hospitality Inn - Washburn, Maine, USA

We wanted a place near the snowmobile trails with parking for the sleds, friendly staff, and a good price, and this motel was just right. The rooms are basic, but clean and well kept, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. It’s a budget motel, but they do a great job for the price. Wonderful value.

We had a great stay, though there was a short wait because the door battery wasn’t working. This was our second time here.

The room was spacious enough for my family and visitors, and the beds were comfortable for the price. We’ve stayed here under the previous owner, and this past weekend was our first visit with the new owners. I’m not sure who was at the desk, but the woman we met briefly at check-in was kind. The updates were noticeable, and I’m sure they’ll keep improving. Aroostook Hospitality Inn is definitely recommendable, and I doubt this will be our last stay. There were a couple of things that kept this from being a full five stars. When we arrived, the room smelled of stale cigarettes and maybe damp mustiness, so we kept using the Febreze room spray provided. The cleaning also could have been better: there was soap left in the shower, pet hair on the pull-out sofa mattress, and a piece of cracker between the sheets and blankets on the made bed. I’d read reviews mentioning breakfast and coffee, but during our two-night, three-day stay, we didn’t know about them until afterward. My kids and I would have loved breakfast and coffee without having to go out to buy them. Maybe the desk staff could mention this perk, or it could be highlighted somewhere. Keep improving, you’re on to something here.

This motel was truly pet friendly. Unlike places that charge a huge pet fee and give you their worst rooms, our room had no smells and was very clean. It had everything we needed, and both the room rate and the extra pet fee were affordable and reasonable. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. I’d highly recommend it to anyone traveling in the area.
