Mount Lemmon Lodge

The mountain views from the room were breathtaking, and the room's style and technology were great. The instructions were clear, from conserving water to using the lights and fan. The Cafe had its full menu available until 7pm, and the food, atmosphere, decor, cleanliness, and service were all perfect. The staff were friendly and patient. A young woman even lent me her own snow brush in the morning to clear the snow off my convertible, and another woman helped me at checkout and in the gift shop, which really is worth seeing. After the long, winding drive up the mountain, Vanessa kindly found me a room at the last minute on Saturday night so I wouldn't have to drive back in the dark. It was a magical stay at a beautiful lodge, though one moment left me uneasy. I came back to my room before checkout and found a woman there. My food and belongings were still inside, and I was already in a rush to get on the road. I assume she was from Housekeeping, but she didn't say who she was or why she was there, and hadn't checked with the front desk to see whether I had checked out. My Do not Disturb sign was on the door, yet she made me feel bad for still being there and didn't seem interested in hearing about the mini bar. I wondered if she was there for the gratuity envelope. I called Reception right after she left to ask for a few more minutes. They were fine with that and let HouseKeeping know, but nobody from Reception called to check on what had happened. The incident still makes me uncomfortable and took away from what was otherwise a marvelous stay. It almost made me lower my rating to 4, but I was very impressed by the rest of the hardworking staff at the elegant Mt Lemmon Lodge.

The owners, John Childs and Diana Osborne, were gracious hosts, and the stay exceeded what we expected. We wanted an affordable getaway close to Tucson, and this was one of the best places we've stayed in 2025. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the electric fireplace made it feel just right. We had a lovely balcony with a good view of Summerhaven. Can't wait to return.

We only added one night to our vacation, but it was such a pleasant surprise that we wished we'd stayed longer. I thought it would be a basic lodge, and they delivered far more than I expected. The rooms had robes, the attached restaurant was delicious, and there were firepits on the deck. Everything was exceptionally clean, and complimentary coffee was brought to every floor in the morning. Five stars for every detail, this is a lovely little mountain hotel.

The price seems within everyone's budget, and the rooms are high quality. I was impressed by the food and the underground parking garage, too. From the front desk to the gift shop, the service was above average. This is a magnificent place, and I can't say enough about it.
