Kara at the desk was friendly and helpful, and made the stay memorable. This was the cleanest, quietest extended stay I’ve been to, and I’ve stayed at esa a lot. I’ll definitely be back to Charleston.

The staff members I dealt with were very nice, but I’d tell people to stay away. The room itself was okay for size and cleanliness, though it smelled strongly of cheap, unpleasant cleaning products when we arrived. The bigger problem was how much noise came through the building. At 6:30 the first morning, someone upstairs stomped for about an hour. The front desk said she’d contact them, but it kept going; she later said no one had answered and would follow up. It finally stopped around 8:30 or 9. The next night, the room above sounded like a wrestling match mixed with bull riding. The desk called them, and the occupant said it was his dog and he’d get it onto the bed. I was told they couldn’t control a dog issue. They also explained that since the carpets had been removed, even normal walking could be very loud. Later, the neighbors’ music and party got louder and louder. Around 11, I knocked and politely asked a man to turn it down. He did somewhat, but the noise built back up until the headboard was vibrating. The front desk was closed, so I worked through the company phone system until someone took my statement and said they’d call the night attendant. She came, and around 12:20 the party stopped. She said she could hear it from five or six rooms away. I was so stressed I didn’t fall asleep until about 4, then the dog’s pounding woke me at 4:45. Bring your own toiletries too. There was soap, but the tiny tube wouldn’t have been enough even for a one-year-old. Cleanliness can be improved, but the room felt so poorly and cheaply built.

We only booked one night, but the room had cockroaches and the shower looked dirty. There was a marijuana smell as soon as we walked in, and the hallways smelled strange too. We stayed only because we couldn’t get a refund. I don’t recommend it at all.

The location was good, but the hotel was dirty and the room was hot. The phone didn’t work, and we saw roaches crawling around. I went down and asked for a refund; the front desk woman was professional and very nice, and refunded the stay. We moved to another hotel. I wouldn’t recommend this place, though I would give the woman credit for how she handled us.
