Chris Roberts was easygoing and easy to talk to. Gladys Roberts was the opposite: rude, disrespectful, and without manners. She seemed to treat people however she felt like at the time. My family and I kept to ourselves, but that seemed to be a problem too. When we made friends, that was an issue as well. The front desk clerk, Megan, often didn’t seem to know what she was doing. She tried to charge us an extra $20, and once, while I was waiting for laundry quarters, she charged a customer who didn’t have a dog for one. He caught the mistake before he was charged an extra $10 a day, but when he pointed it out she got an attitude as if it were his fault. My husband and I had just moved up from down south and needed a place to stay. It was affordable, so we made it home for a few months. We ran into mold, no hot water, drug addicts, and disrespect. As a manager myself, I’ve never seen people so unhappy. We asked to move because our room smelled like mold and we have small children, but the managers’ wife, Gladys, didn’t like me, so they wouldn’t change it. I’d written a review before, and the manager said he’d switch rooms if I took it down. Luckily, a week later we were out of there. Management was poor, rude, and nasty. They seemed to think they could mistreat people who were waiting for a house to be finished, moving somewhere new, or trying not to be homeless. They’ll get into your business, open your mail, and give you trouble. If you’re passing through for a night, maybe it’s no problem because you don’t have to deal with anyone there for long. But if you’re moving or have lost a home and need somewhere to stay, don’t stay here.
