Maurrocks Bed & Breakfast

The location surprised us a little, since the house sits in an ordinary residential neighborhood. I actually called to check we had the right place before knocking. Inside, the room and shared space felt cozy and welcoming, and the owners were really nice and engaging. Snacks and drinks were waiting when we arrived, and breakfast was amazing, all made from scratch and delicious. We stayed one midweek night while passing through, looking for something different from a standard hotel. If we're back in the area, we'll definitely return.

Maureen and Tom made us feel like we were visiting friends. We got great hiking tips, enjoyed chatting over breakfast, and relaxed by the fire with their sweet dogs. I've stayed here twice, and both visits were amazing. Breakfast is more like a high-end brunch, and the hosts are really helpful and nice. They leave snacks and provide towels, plus toothbrushes and toothpaste. There are lots of fun shops nearby and Kalahari resort/Waterpark is close, too. Their adorable dogs are another bonus. Highly recommend.

The food is so good I still dream about the Dutch baby, and going back home to our own cooking was the only real disappointment. Maureen and Tom made the whole trip for us, and their rescue pups were a bonus. You can hear sound travel a little, but the experience was so good I can't recommend it enough. We loved the Poconos, though some areas may feel dicey depending on your background. Maureen and Tom felt like a safe haven for travelers from all walks of life, and I imagine most people would feel safe with them.
